Haskap

Very hardy shrub in the honeysuckle family with new edible varieties recently developed at the University of Saskatchewan. Large, oblong, dusky blue berries are sweeter than a blueberry or huckleberry and the bushes crop heavily once they have reached three to four years old. Compatible varieties are required for successful pollination, with a recommended ratio of one pollinator for up to five producers. Suggested spacing is 5’ for single bushes and 3’ for a hedge. Grows to 3’-4’ tall.
